Buy 'Whatever Gets You Off' Today!

New York, NY (April 14,2009) - THE LAST VEGAS, the band hand picked by Mötley Crüe to tour with them as part of Guitar Center’s On-Stage new music program, have released their debut CD for Eleven Seven Music, the brazenly titled WHATEVER GETS YOU OFF.

Earning accolades from the press on the “Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour” with Mötley Crüe, Hinder and Theory Of A Deadman, THE LAST VEGAS--cited last year by SPIN as "Best Discovery” in the magazine’s SXSW 2008 coverage--recently took time out to shoot a video for “I’m Bad” in their Chicago hometown at the popular nightclub, the Double Door.  To watch the debut video for “I’m Bad,” please visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lV0Nl5F8R4.

The track--which “combines rock, glam and garage for an ass-kicking sound,” Billboard, 1/10/09--was inspired by “life, sex, and death,” reveals frontman CHAD CHERRY.  “It was a culmination of what happened to a friend as well as various life experiences that I have been through,” he continues.  “This song has great, sleazy riffs that have become part of our signature sound,” says guitarist ADAM ARLING.

Not surprisingly for THE LAST VEGAS, things got a little wild on the set, as drummer NATE ARLING explains: “We shot the video at the Double Door. I got attacked by a stripper in a bathroom stall and she started making out with me. That was the start of the day…”

THE LAST VEGAS--ADAM ARLING (guitar), NATHAN ARLING (drums), JOHNNY WATOR (guitar), DANNY SMASH (bass) and CHAD CHERRY (lead vocals)--recorded WHATEVER GETS YOU OFF in Los Angeles with veteran rock producers DJ Ashba (Sixx:A.M., Mötley Crüe), Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne) and Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. after being hand-picked by Mötley Crüe as part of Guitar Center’s On-Stage program. They were awarded a record and management deal, giving the band an unprecedented opportunity.  In a recent interview with the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Nikki Sixx shared his thoughts about THE LAST VEGAS, noting: “They're honest. They're real. They're not full of (expletive). They're a real rock 'n' roll band” (February 12, 2009).

Here’s a sample of the praise THE LAST VEGAS has received for their live gigs so far:

“…buzzed-about newcomers the Last Vegas…”

--Chris Riemenschneider, Minneapolis Star Tribune, February 12, 2009

“…this band proved it belonged onstage and was deserving of its role as lead openers. Both looking and performing the part with studded leather, intense singing and overzealous stage moves, The Last Vegas commanded the audience’s attention and let it know the show had begun.”

--Alice Daugherty, San Diego State Univ. Daily Aztec, February 5, 2009

“…newcomers the Last Vegas more than held their own...give the Last Vegas time. Like Motley Crue, it has lasting power.”

--Katjusa Cisar, Capitol Times (Madison, WI), February 15, 2009

"...Last Vegas ignited the crowd. The showmanship, musicianship and their ability to connect with the audience not only won me over, but I believe it won overall in attendance! Just good Rock and Roll."

--Victor Hudson, The Village Idiot, February 27, 2009

“The Last Vegas won a national competition to have a place on the Motley Crue tour and proved that they deserved it. They brought the audience to their feet…”

--Bianca Ionescu, Central Florida Future, March 5, 2009

A blog from St. Paul AND a phone number to call us on!

We just set up a new phone number so we can talk to you guys from the road.  Call in to hear what we're up to, leave messages for us, and get updates about everything Last Vegas.  Call us now - 773-840-8502!

In other news, cold as hell in St. Paul today....definitely not on the west coast anymore as this time machine called a tour bus leaves every night after the gig around 2am, and you wake up at the arena of the next day figuring out which way is up (and where the nearest bathroom is).   The Republican National convention was here back in Sept. or something, and I think we may have Sarah Palin's dressing room today.  Or at least we can dream.... Today is the third day we've had the iTunes single of the week on their main page, and the response is great from the crowd.  People are singing along to I'm Bad at every show now.  Creating bad people in every town, sing along our friends.   It's good to be bad.  Our TM knows of a late night gentlemen's club where he's king VIP, or part owner after years of patronage, so we'll see what that's all about in a few....Adios 'til Green Bay tomorrow.

Madison, WI.

Valentines day in Madison, WI tonight, and The Last Vegas sends some hot love.  We used to come up and see shows here all the time growing up, Megadeth, Pantera, Ozzy, the works...now we're playing the arena.  Pretty crazy.   Before the show we did a Motherf$*cker of the Year Pre-Party acoustic set at the Badger Bowl bar sponsored by WJJO, the local rock station spinning I'm Bad.  Super crowded at 4pm, and we did acoustic versions of new songs off the upcoming record; I'm Bad, Apologize, and Whatever Gets You Off.  People were diggin. Maybe something will leak out online next week.   Back to the arena stage to set the show off right for Theory, Hinder and The Crue.  The Crue was even more awesome tonight than usual.  Nikki was all over the stage.

another update from the road

Welcome from the road... it's been one hell of a week on tour with Motley, Theory and the Hinder dudes. Getting dialed in with all of our new gear in these big arenas thanks to GC!!....  Everything kicked off in San Diego last Monday, and we've been pretty blown away by the Motley stage show. It's all BIG. Big lights, Big pyro, Big sound! People are definitely getting their moneys worth on this one.  It feels great to play some of the new tunes that we wrote and recorded for the new album that's coming out in April.  The crowd is diggin it and the set is finally starting to get really tight.  We hit Reno next which was wild.  Lots of partying and it seemed like the whole crew on tour was ready to start tearing this thing up.  A day off and we headed to Las Vegas for 3 days and 2 shows, the final two shows at the legendary "Joint" in the Hard Rock Casino.  We posted a lot of pics and videos from these two, mostly cause we had a hard time remembering all the craziness that got packed into those gigs.  Total stimulus overload; lights, waitresses in lingerie, high rollers, outta controllers, a very "augmented" scene to say the least. The whole twisted 9 yards and it fit like a dirty glove.

We had a couple days off to get out here to the midwest. It's back to arenas in Omaha and Moline tonight.  Second time hitting this place for The Last Vegas. We played here last summer with Buckcherry. Should be great! We have lots of friends in town and we're getting into all the territories we've been hittin on the club scene for the last 4 years. We're getting ready to load in now, tune up our new goodies courtesy of On Stage, and sound check.  All I can say to the people reading this is "get your tickets now!".. this show is big and you'll walk away with ringing ears and a melted brain from 5 hours of serious rock... we'll keep sending out the stories as they come so stay tuned in. This is only the beginning of this 7 week run and it's only going to get more crazy as this machine rolls on....  see ya then...    Rock on - Johnny

Vegas Makes The Last Vegas Bad

Crawled away from 2 sold out shows closing down Hard Rock Hotel's The Joint in Las Vegas this weekend.   Hottest ticket in town.  Gambling, girls, leather, the works for 2 solid days where the Hard Rock Casino was a playground of Motley miscreants from across the nation.  Roulette, snake eyes, slots, k-ching.  Eyeliner and attitude in full.  Just The Last Vegas & The Crue at these shows.  We blew it out both nights (including some amps and minds) before succumbing to the hungry Vegas night that could ruin or save a man..pick your poison.  Sex, drugs, & rock'n'roll in all it's cliche'd glory.  F*^K it, it's Vegas and that's the way this pirate ship & crew rolled.  Hung out with the Guitar Center buds from LA which was awesome.  Pictures speak volumes over words, so check out the dirty negatives...

Happy new year...

Best wishes from cold, snowy Chicago this holiday season. The Last Vegas are cruisin' the holiday party scene around Chicago & Michigan catching up with friends and throwing snowballs. Staying busy writing tunes and getting stuff ready to head out to LA in January to start working on the full-length album before leaving for the Motley tour. We're stoked and excited to finish putting together 10-12 songs of full rock fury to unleash in 2009 recording the debut album in Los Angeles. Looking forward to making some waves in the coming months in your town...unleash the r'n'r beast. Enjoy 2009 and only our best, dressed in layers of leather, from Chicago this year.

Tastes Like Spain...

Fresh back from Los Angeles for all of 8 hours, and we're back to O'Hare airport to catch a flight to Europe to begin a 2 week run throughout Spain, Italy, Croatia and Germany. Couple of sleepy pills and mediocre airplane movies later we arrive in Madrid, arguably the rock'n'roll capital of southern Europe. Spain just gets it. The fans go nuts, they scream and yell in your face, dress to the nines and come out in gangs. Party time every night. Not much sleep anymore... you eat dinner no earlier than 9pm and hit the stage about 12 midnight if you're lucky. After show dance party? Imagine 60s soul/garage blasting speakers to a packed club gettin' down with the grooves. Sexual energy at it's peak. Get back to the hotel around 6am (or get lost, or have some crazy person drop you off), wake up at 10 and start traveling up or down the Mediterranean. Repeat.

Valencia is always a top gig. Club Durango. 2 brothers who run this place out in the middle of nowhere in orange tree fields. 11pm doors open and a crowd of eyeliner dudes & leathered-up chicks comes rolling in ready to rock. Huge stage, big lights, caught some killer video of this one. Nathan pukes all over his drum set. DJ plays 'Dancing on Glass' right when we get done. Killer. Next night up to Burgos, an ancient town with creepy gothic cathedrals out of the Middle Ages. Another top stop, Estudio 27, located underneath the bull-fighting stadium in town. Pictures of matadors along the walls, the OG Spanish rock-stars. Club sells out and think we played for 2 hours. The backstage area is behind the stage, with no other way out. Every time we'd open the door to run out and take a piss or grab a beer the whole crowd screams louder for a 3rd encore. Nice! Think we played a Runaways or KISS cover at the end. It was great, to us at least. ha. Next up to the Basque country, San Sebastian. Near the border w/ France. Shows here always rule and people are exotic. And finally end the Spanish leg in Barcelona, a true European city. Fashion-central. Post-show, the hotel has a vending machine with beer in it and we empty the damn thing, watching the sun rise over the sea. We just sold out of all the CDs we brought for the entire trip. See ya next summer Spain. Next stop...Italy.

December 8, 2008

So The Last Vegas are out on tour again, heading through Texas from Austin to South Padre Island when we get the call. Can we get to LA in 2 days for the Guitar Center OnStage contest finals, live at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, playing for the members of Motley Crue for a shot at opening on the Crue's 2009 North American Tour? Mmmmm...yeah. And step on the gas. 26 hours drivin' straight back to Chicago to catch a flight into LAX. Cancel that week's shows at the southwest US's finest underground punk clubs. This is the Crue we're talking about...

2 days later. Roll into the Whiskey on Sunset. This is the place man...Jim Morrison, Iggy, Van Halen, the Crue, all the rock'n'roll greats have graced this stage at one time or another. You can smell it. We sneak down from the Whiskey's notorious 2nd floor backstage and into the VIP balcony and stare as Nikki, Vince and Mick are doing a TV interview and we watch 'em like kids in a candy store. The Last Vegas are first of 6 bands tonight, figure there's nothing to lose as Nate kicks the beat on the first song and fires off the set slammin. Chad Cherry screams at his crowd. Hair flys, heads bang. We rock out the take-no-prisoners set and watch all the other bands kick some ass as well. This is a f*#king good show!?! When Vince Neil announced our name at the end of the night, everyone around us, friends from LA and Chicago start screaming, grabbing, shaking... "You're opening for the Crue man!" Although it doesn't seem real. Blurry. Immediately led to the stage to take photos with Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil. You gotta be kidding....Billboard magazine starts an interview. What? "Yeah, great...uh yeah we're from...Is this real?" Can tell this night is getting locked in deep somewhere. The band & crew head back to the hotel and party w/ the Spittin' Cobras and The Heroin til sunrise. Good dudes, killer bands. Sorry hotel neighbors for the distraction...

Get picked up the next day and head straight to Guitar Center. Pick out a ton of killer Gibson gear...Thunderbirds, Les Pauls, Juniors, SGs, a Flying V. Arsenal of rock. Everyone has their weapon of choice, which we'll use when we go to Europe next week. Head next to the Gibson showcase room, who's kindly supplying instruments for a show in 2 days at the Palladium. Our first gig opening for Motley Crue. A surprise from the band. You're telling us... Hollywood Palladium...sold out on the Sunset Strip. This all feels like the start of something huge, loud and will seriously turn some heads.

We're The Last Vegas. From a town probably just like yours. Soundtrack of our youth was Stooges, AC/DC, Black Flag, Motley, Misfits, the Nuge...you get the drift. 2 weeks ago we're sleeping on floors, playing Omaha, Tulsa, San Angelo, scraping up enough to get to the next town, put some gas in the tank, write another song, takin' another hit, doin' it the only way we know how. Guess dreams can come true. Stick to your guns, play the rock you wanna play, and push it extra hard cause someday when you least expect it, someone's gonna hear your noise and you're gonna get your say too. Never give up, never give in.

So stay in touch kids, check back often and join us through this crazy journey of which The Last Vegas wouldn't dare predict the outcome. Get your boots on...
